Next the surgeon divides the strip of removed scalp into tiny grafts. The numbers and type of grafts used depend upon quality of hair, type and color of hair as well as the size of the area where it will be transplanted. After the grafts are prepared, the surgeon cleans and numb the area where the hair will be placed, then creates hole with the help of a needle or scalpel and delicately places each graft in one of the holes.       The entire procedure will take two to four hours depending upon the number of hair grafts being implanted.

After getting hair transplantation you may require pain relief medications for several days. Post operative care is very important. Follow post operative instructions given by your surgeon and expect to wait three to five months before your new hair grafts actually start growing your new hair. Your surgeon will give you a surgical dressing over the scalp for at least two days. Surgeon may also prescribe you anti-inflammatory drugs to be taken for several days after getting hair transplant. Within two to three weeks after surgery, the transplanted hair will fall out. But don't worry, this is normal and expected.  But you will start noticing new growth of hair within a few months.
